summer breeze makes me feel fine....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not really, but... in my sense it is.
Summer break has started for me, and I've hit it full swing. I've been working since I got home Friday afternoon, which is why I didn't write a journal immediately.
My summer job seems to be going well. I got thrown dead into that too, since my "boss" (she isn't really, but she is my senior) had to go home early on Monday due to illness... I really didn't know too much about how the programs were set up, so Mr. Frank was my rescue aide.
We had some home school kids on Monday, and a field trip of fourth graders today. Ugh. It'll get better as the summer progresses and school lets out for them. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
I get to head three, week-long camps as well as a campfire this summer. I'll also be getting a free intro to canoe course (what I did was a refresher), as well as some caving and tons of hiking. I just hope that I can do this right and not mess up.
I haven't drawn in about... 3 weeks I think? I have two requests that I have to take care of, one for
and one for
. I will get to those and I haven't forgotten, I promise. With my full time job though I'm being kept quite busy. So please, cut a little slack
In some sad news, my sister's rat (which turned into mine since she was so allergic to him), passed away last night. He was three years old, which is really great for a rat, and for such a big one too! Frankie was a rescued lab rat from my sister's college, and named after Frankenstein for the way he looked with the stitches on his back and neck. He was a good rat, and kept my baby company (Jinx). I'll miss him... So now my sister's guinea pig (which has turned into my mom's) Samoa is in my room. I went from having all girl animals to all boys. Weird, no?
Okay, well that's all I have time to jot down right now, since I need to get some rest for tomorrow. We have another group of homeschool kids which are going into the wetlands. Uhhhhh..... kids and mud and boots... never a good combo. 8:30-5 days 5 days a week. I love it, but at some times... what happened to good parenting????
Some form of art soon, I promise!
P.S.: I would like to thank
for making my CSS for me. It's absolutely wonderful!!
I do have a favor to ask- could your dad NOT cash my check for a bit? I just realized that I do not have enough money in my account if he does. I have a game plan to get more it, but it will take about a week. Is that ok?
As for Frankie, I can only hope that he didn't suffer too much and that he's happy and in a better place. Thanks for your condolence! My sister's guinea pig Samoa is in my room with me and Jinx so that he isn't lonely. I think Sam is happy for the company as well.
