summer breeze makes me feel fine....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's a pretty boring day here at work (yeah, I could get in big trouble for doing this while on the clock), but I'm being paid and no one else is in the office or even the building complex except for myself. Ha ha ha.... thank you government. Yes, I work for the government. Makes me laugh anytime I think about it.
Mr. Frank is on a canoe trip with Captain Jack right now. Mmm... 8th graders from private school. I already had one lady come in asking for a release form for a minor because they "just keep misplacing them." Good grief.
So I am in the main office right now - the big chair and the main computer. Woo hoo. The only inhabitants of the nature center right now are myself, the 4 snakes, the 4 turtles, and some tadpoles. Besides that... rain and birds outside. Darn quiet today.
BUT! When I get home around 5:30 this afternoon, I will have completed my first 40 hour work week, and have been paid a nice amount. Though it is boring right now, I am working on my plans for the 3, week-long summer camps and the campfire that I will be in charge of. Once the summer hits and public schools let out, things will really be moving here with all the programs and camps. I have the first summer camp after school lets out, so I'm gonna have some boisterous children. Can't be as bad as Tuesday's field trip kids though....
It's 10:54. I have to wait until 5 until I leave. There have been no phone calls. So I've been sitting here, planning.
After I get home and do my usual 20-30 min of exercise and take a shower, I will work on those two requests. Sorry you two, but thank you so much for your patience! I have two other pieces that are inked and just sitting around that I'll color and post when the requests are done as well. I will draw tonight though, and hopefully do some more etching and perhaps write. I'm gonna be dead tired tonight though, so we'll see how much I get done.
I am alive, and I am very sorry for the large lapse in art postings and updates. I pretty much have no summer vacation, since I started work the Monday after the semester ended, and will continue to work until the Friday before I have to go back to college.
If I get to go back to college. My grades were the worst they have ever been this past semester. And, as usual, I got reemed out by my father. So, now I may have to take a summer online course, and lower my 19 credits from fall to 16 so that I can "manage my classes better." Thanks dad, thanks. UGH. I hate having to be a trophy child. My sister told me she has extra room in her apartment and I could go live there. Ha ha... at least it's an option.
I think I have... only 25 days off this summer, most being weekends and holidays. Though I do work some Saturdays. But, I love my job. I love what I do, and this is close to my ideal job that I'd like to have when I graduate from college and after getting my masters. My mom wants me to get a PhD, like my sister, but.... that's a little iffy. I like seeing the smiles on the kids face and being out in nature and doing things I enjoy. I really like it here.
Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in the respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.
